Due to our recent office renovation and warehouse spring cleaning initiatives, FYI will be hosting its annual garage sale event next week. The sale will be Thursday and Friday, May 6 and 7, and run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days at our office, 468 N. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. in New Carlisle.
This year's sale will be different in many ways.
“No reasonable offer will be refused and nothing will be priced,” said Executive Director Nikki Stefanow.
Another difference is that we are not accepting outside donations, keeping in step with the goal of making better use of the storage space in our warehouse and office.
New Carlisle Parenting Network Assistant Carole Cowles has been doing a lot of the early warehouse work.
“She has been the one to put so many hours into it, in both cleaning out the warehouse and coordinating the sale,” said Nikki. “Without her efforts, we wouldn’t have been able to have a garage sale this year.”
Some of the items available for sale will include office chairs, office cubicle partition and desk combos, a microwave oven, original Coca Cola plastic coolers, bicycles, other desks, small tables, metal cabinets and small sewing machines. Also on sale are educational toys, collectible toys, Mason jars and canning supplies, craft items, stationery and office supplies. There will be no clothes for sale.
“You will be able to get some good bargains,” said Cowles. “We have so much stuff to choose from.”
Safe social distancing measures will be followed, including requests to wear masks and maintain a 6-foot distance from others. Hand sanitizer will also be available.
