FYI’s fifth annual Spring Rummage Sale is expanding into a two-day event on Friday, May 22, and Saturday, May 23, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“We normally do it one day - on a Saturday,” said volunteer Bonnie Luis, who has put in countless hours organizing the annual event since its inception. “We are offering it two days for those who may not be able to make it on one of the days. We want to raise as much as we can to help continue FYI’s mission.”
Guidelines from the Ohio Department of Health for all garage sales and other outdoor sales will be strictly followed. They are:
State suggested social distancing will be practiced and posters instructing all customers to do so upon arrival will be posted
We will clean and disinfect all tables and chairs frequently throughout the day
Tables and chairs will be 6 feet apart
Tape will be used to direct customers through flow of the sale area
Customers will be asked to keep the 6-foot safe social distance while standing in any lines
We will wipe tables and chairs using disinfectant at the end of the day or the next morning
We will always wear masks and gloves during the sale
Hand sanitizer will be provided for customers on tables and other places
One of the highlights will be a $5 bike sale. Numerous gently used and reconditioned children’s bikes, most of them for smaller children, will be available for a minimum $5 donation.
FYI will also be offering vintage collectible toys in their original packaging.
Other items that will be available include a wide selection of toys for babies and toddlers (including a great value on a covered sandbox), linens, glassware, beautiful decorative hanging pictures and other household items. There is also a riding lawnmower that isn’t currently running but is being offered for parts for the best offer. No clothing will be sold at the sale.
All proceeds will go towards FYI expenses not covered by any of our grants, like utilities and fuel.
