For more than 45 years, FYI’s Parenting Network has been a beacon of hope for families navigating the unexpected twists of pregnancy and the everyday challenges of parenting. Behind every statistic is a story; a young mother feeling overwhelmed, a father searching for guidance, a family desperate for stability.

Because of your generous support, this past year alone we’ve walked alongside over 200 parents in Clark and Greene counties offering not just resources, but reassurance; not just education, but encouragement. For many, that support has made the difference between merely getting by and truly thriving. Access to parenting classes, emotional guidance, and practical tools empowers families to create safe, nurturing homes where children can grow and flourish. Our expanding outreach and community presence have allowed us to meet parents where they are—offering a hand to hold and a path forward when it’s needed most.

However, due to the overwhelming demand and limited availability of public funds, FYI was not selected for state funding in the 2025-2027 cycle. This funding had previously covered 100% of our Fairborn operations and 50% of our Parenting Network budget. We are making adjustments to accommodate this unexpected turn.

As a result:

• The Springfield East Parenting Network office has closed

• Hours of operation have been reduced at all locations, pushing appointment times out further

• Critical baby items like cribs, car seats, and diapers are no longer readily available

These items aren’t luxuries. These are the cribs that afford a newborn a safe place to sleep every night. These car seats are the security that allows parents to take their children to essential appointments or daycare. These are the diapers that keep babies clean and healthy and prevent parents from making a choice between an infant’s hygiene and putting food on the table. 

To help bridge the gap, Pam & Gourdin Foundation has generously pledged to match every dollar given for the Parenting Network – up to $30,000 – through November 13, the date of our Harvesting Hope Fundraising Dinner. That means your gift today will go twice as far to preserve life-changing services for families who need them most. Please consider giving in one of these ways:

• Write Parenting Network in the memo section of the check

• Select Parenting Network under “Would you like to direct your donation to a specific program?”

• You can choose to opt out of Zeffy’s fee by selecting other in the drop-down menu
