About the Event

Free Rides to the Polls on Greene CATS November 8th

Family & Youth Initiatives (FYI) is teaming up with Greene CATS Public Transit to provide free rides to the polls on November 8th, allowing everyone, regardless of transportation barriers, to participate in one of the essential foundations of a democracy: voting. Passengers on all Flex Routes will ride for free, providing them access to polling locations along the way, including the Greene County Board of Elections office on Ledbetter Drive in Xenia.  Riders who schedule rides to their polling location in Greene County will also enjoy a free ride. *See important information below about how to schedule a ride. “This is the 3rd year FYI has supported a day of free rides for the community” said Nikki Stefanow, FYI’s Executive Director. “It actually started as an item auctioned at our first Harvesting Hope event. We thought it was such a great idea that we have continued sponsoring it since. We believe it is important for everyone to have access to all the services they need, and Greene CATS helps them get there. We can let people know about the free services we have available in the community and give them a helping hand for the day.” “We appreciate FYI’s sponsorship to help Greene CATS provide riders with access to their polling locations as well as other government and social services agencies, medical facilities, and retail stores along the Flex Routes on election day,” said Greene CATS Public Transit Executive Director Ken Collier. *Scheduled Rides require advance reservation and are provided on a space-available basis so plan your trip now by calling the Scheduling Office at (937) 708-8322 before November 4th to make your trip request. For Flex Route schedules and maps, visit the Greene CATS website at www.greenecountyohio.gov/GreeneCATS.
